These deviled eggs have a secret ingredient that bring them to next-level awesome!
Anytime there are deviled eggs at a party, they are the first thing to go. They’re creamy, soft, and such an easy handheld food to both eat and serve.
They also look like a delicacy, and many people assume they’re difficult to make!
But actually, the opposite is true. These deviled eggs are as easy as could be!
My husband did the grocery shopping last week (…yes, he is a saint…) and came home with 32 eggs…
Normally I’d say “whatever” and make a Spinach, Feta and Tomato Frittata, but we already had a dozen untouched eggs in the fridge!
Ok, time to get creative.
It had been awhile since I have made deviled eggs, and it seemed like a good weekend treat. We devoured them in a matter of hours!
The kids loved them, we loved them, and everyone was full and happy.

The Trick to Easy Peel Eggs
The most daunting part of deviled eggs is peeling the hard boiled eggs.
Luckily there are a few tricks to making hard boiled eggs easy to peel.
Make an ice bath
Once your eggs are done cooking, immediately remove them and place them into a bowl of ice water. Once they’re cool, the shells will slide right off!
Shake them in container
Another trick is to place one or two hard boiled eggs in a plastic container with a little water in the bottom. Shake the container to break the shells and they slide off in a few pieces.
Deviled eggs with a secret ingredient
At last, the secret is revealed!
…what makes these so special?
It may sound silly, but the secret is…
PICKLE JUICE!
If you hate pickles, I promise you really don’t get a ton of pickle flavor.
If it’s truly something you despise, you can leave the pickle juice and relish out of the mixture. If you decide to do that you may have to increase the amount of salt and pepper (or give an extra squeeze of mustard), as the pickle juice is really what gives it such a great flavor.
These make the perfect party food, or if you’re like us, you can just have deviled eggs as a delicious snack. They are a great appetizer for someone that eats low carb or keto.
Also, have you seen these deviled egg trays? They’re amazing!
It makes it so easy to bring them to a party and save the leftovers. It will keep your eggs from sliding on a tray during transport! Whoever thought of this was a genius.
Let me know what you think! I’d love to hear from you in the comments below.
